Set your sight on the finish line when you join us for Southern College of Optometry’s EYE 5k!
This inaugural run or walk event will be held on Saturday, October 2 at 8am. The in-person race starts and finishes in the heart of the Memphis Medical District. You’re invited to finish with a post-race party complete with tasty treats. A virtual option is also available to be completed for those unable to participate in person.
Established in 1932, Southern College of Optometry is an independent, not-for-profit institution of higher education with more than 500 students and residents from 40 states. SCO operates several eyecare clinics serving the public. The Eye Center at SCO serves nearly 60,000 patients annually, helping make the college one of the top in the nation for clinical optometric education. Additionally, SCO operates University Eye Care on the campus of The University of Memphis, FocalPoint at Crosstown Concourse, and MobilEYES, a mobile clinical facility to take patient care into neighborhoods and schools. SCO’s Community Outreach Program provides care at no cost to more than 5,000 patients annually through school-based vision screenings, on-site outreach programs and remote medical missions, among other programs.
